On the last night of Hanukkah, the students of the Lauder e-School in Poland gathered in front of their computers to light their Menorahs in unison.
Students logged into the class from different cities, such as Lodz, the Lower and Upper Silesia, Kraków, Germany and Israel, and joined as they do each week, as part of the Lauder Poland e-Learning studies. Guests included Rabbi Itzchak and Rebbetzin Marta Rappaport, who spoke words of Torah, explained the significance of the Holy Menorah and the spiritual importance of the holiday.
Rabbi Rappaport led the group in the blessings and prayers. Jewish Culture teacher – Mr. Chaim Kobyliński – shared with an inspiring Hanukkah story and provided the historical background of the Maccabbee Uprising. Mr. Eliyahu Skoczylas, who is the husband of our Jewish Culture and Hebrew teacher, Mrs. Bogna Skoczylas, went outside with his laptop to show the class in Live view what a street in Jerusalem looks like with Menorot positioned outside of Jewish homes. After singing together Hanerot Halelu and Maoz Tzur, the group warmly wished each other Hanukkah Sameach.
