Kindergartens Across Europe
A
A kindergarten means children—happy, noisy, busy children. It means that somewhere nearby, young people are forming relationships, creating Jewish homes, and having babies. For Jewish communities, the existence of a kindergarten is proof that there is a future.
We support thirteen kindergartens in nine countries, with a total enrollment of more than 700 children.
This is why kindergartens are among our favorite projects. Some of our kindergartens are part of larger educational institutions, for example in Warsaw or Moscow. Others are stand alone projects, the only Jewish education providers in their communities, such as in Bratislava or Perm.
Whether big or small, new or old, the kindergartens of the Foundation are a joy to visit. Seven decades after the Holocaust and three since the fall of Communism, children across Central and Eastern Europe sing Shabbat songs not only in Hebrew, but in Czech, German, Hungarian, Polish, Romanian, Russian, Slovakian and Ukrainian. This is Jewish continuity in action. Our programs include:
Lauder Chabad Kindergarten, Vienna, Austria
Lauder Gan Yehuda Kindergarten, Prague, Czech Republic
Lauder Nitzan Kindergarten, Berlin, Germany
Ronald Lauder Kindergarten of the Irg Leipzig, Germany
Lauder Javne Jewish Community Kindergarten, Budapest, Hungary
Lauder Morasha Kindergarten, Warsaw, Poland
Lauder Gan Menachem Kindergarten, Bratislava, Slovakia
Lauder Orach Chaim Kindergarten, Kiev, Ukraine
