The Lauder Javne School of Hungary had a packed month of activities in April, centered around community and Jewish identity.
Special programs included Community Day, an Interactive Seder Performance — complete with costumes of Pharaoh, Pyramid building, the Red Sea, Manna, and the Giving of the Torah– a Poetry competition, and Holocaust Memorial Day presentations, film and discussions.
In addition, the school held a White Elephant fundraising event for the Kindergarten, and donated clothing to a children’s charity.
The Lauder Javne School’s 10th Grade Z’man class hosted students from the Solomo Aleichemo Secondary School of Vilnius, and gave them a guided tour of Budapest, including Parliament, the Shoes on the Danube Bank memorial, the Chain Bridge, the Castle and the Synagogue in Dohány Street.
Here are some photo snapshots of the meaningful events.
