Budapest’s Lauder Javne Jewish Community School opened the Jewish New Year with songs and festivity.
Teachers, parents and fellow students at Hungary’s Jewish school welcomed the incoming First grade class to Hungary’s Jewish elementary school.
The school also held an awards ceremony, recognizing teachers with distinct creativity and excellence.
The Lauder school launched the Shahar program, which provides children with Jewish experiences, on a daily basis. Sample subjects include learning about Jewish holidays, and participating in Kabalat Shabbat activities on Fridays.
In honor of the holiday of Sukkot, the school constructed a large Sukkah, and welcomed Kindergarten and other students.
