Hungary: e-Learning Students Meet Up in Budapest!

The Ronald S. Lauder Foundation
With much excitement, the Lauder Javne Jewish Community School hosted an in person meet-up for the 2016 academic year students, parents and teachers of Hungary’s Ronald S. Lauder Foundation e-Learning program.
Participants played educational games, learned about Tu B’Shvat, technology and go to meet each other’s families.
Other recent highlights in the Javne school include: Student Olympics, a UNICEF seminar on human rights, an introduction to the Hungarian justice system, an interview with film director András Salamon, Math championships, a poetry recital and a poetry competition.
In coordination with the Visual World Foundation (VVA) and the Canadian Embassy to Hungary, Lauder students also participated in a special program about social justice and moral responsibilities. Student volunteers met with Holocaust survivors, and discussed their experiences regarding interaction with neighbors of the time, and the lessons they learned.
Lastly, math students from St. Olaf ’s College in Minnesota visited the Lauder Javne school and discussed common ground in the area of academics, math and other areas.
